My name is Dr. Kim Juneja and I’m a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncturist (and Chinese Herbalist). I completed my 5 year DTCM program in Vancouver, BC.

I have experience with trying to find safety and support for a gender diverse person. My son came out as trans at 15 years old and I searched extensively for health care providers who could support him. I was seeking health professionals that wouldn’t shame him, mis-gender him, or make him feel unsafe. It took a lot of work to sift through practitioners of many disciplines, and ultimately, the choice was very limited. It was upsetting and not good enough.

Even within the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), there is a glaring lack of focused care for trans and gender-diverse people. We need greater awareness and education for practitioners not just in my field, but in all forms of health care - both primary and allied. Also, it is important that our gender-diverse communities are aware of the full array of health-care options available to them - including TCM - which is an effective and complementary treatment.

My vision is rooted in a deep conviction: to create a welcoming, supportive, and affirming space for trans, non-binary, and gender diverse people. To live openly and bravely in one's truth deserves the most compassionate care, and it is my purpose to offer that care to anyone who finds their way to my space.

My mission is to make TCM more accessible to those exploring their gender identities by showing how it can calm anxiety, ease hormone-related side effects, and support faster surgical recovery.

As gender diverse medical care continues to evolve, I remain committed to learning from my patients. My goal is to translate these insights into a Traditional Chinese Medicine framework that supports each person’s path to wholeness and authenticity. I bring passion, dedication, and lived experience to every treatment, ensuring that all who seek gender-affirming care feel safe, seen, and fully supported.
